Title: Jobs for August
Post by: Nikita77 on August 10, 2010, 22:23:26
I'm a person that likes to write lists for work, home, garden, allotment i drive my partner crazy.

Each month i write a list for the next 2 months of things to do in the garden and allotment and am always missing things off so i thought this would be a good way to all help each other.  I was thinking of making this a site suggestion so that we can all add to.

What do you all think, sorry i know i'm new to this site a may be speaking out of turn but jusgt want to know the sort of jobs that you are all getting up to.

Get the overwintering onion seeds started, order the garlic, overwintering broadies and green manure, I've got a new plot to break in.... as long as I can catch the 5:45 home I reckon I've got a month or so where I can have at least an hour on the plot before darkness.... that should do it.....

After the rain it has to be weeding and mulching - most of what I put on earlier has now disappeared.  Potting on some more strawberry runners.  Will sow some French beans in buckets so they can come into the kitchen when it gets cold.  I am going to try some peas.  And spring greens.

Tidy up the strawberry bed. Dig and do the onion and garlic beds ready for the autumn planting. Get the bed ready for the broad beans. Harvest, harvest, harvest. Weed, weed, weed.
