SINCE WHEN WAS A 41 YEAR OLD A SENIOR
Yeh, I suppose it would upset someone who was overweight and over 40 ;)
I don't get any ads on A4All. Maybe it's because of the way my PC is set up - don't know!

You must have a trojan on your pc. Run SPybot from spybot.com and they will go.

ditto (smug smilie)
They used to have 'Over 25's Night' on Thursdays at a local disco type club round here and these were known as 'Grab a Granny Nights'.
When we went to a parent's evening at our child's school, my husband remarked at about a very pretty Miss, 'Why didn't they have teachers like that when I was at school?'
'They did', I told him 'but at 13 you thought they were old bags'.
Old age is any one 15 years older than yourself. Start to worry when there is no one alive who is 15 years older than you are.
As for adverts, If they have to advertise, they are almost certainly overpriced, if you want the product or service, check first. The same thing will, mostly, be available cheaper.
There is a quite interesting one that comes up if you put in weeeed. And I looked at a website this morning and now ads for that are coming up on A4A. Spookey.
Surprised to read this thread, I must have something blocking them as I'd forgotten this site has Ads ;D
Mat & Tonybloke, would be most grateful if you could telll me how to set firefox to block these ads. Please ???

edited to say that ads do support many sites like this one (as well as making google lots of money)
Hi all, :)
I once had a vivid dream in which the ads on webpages that I tune out were played back to me. I think all that peripheral information that we ignore is stored in our heads somewhere. Similarly I once had a cycling dream where all the details down to every stone of a route I was familiar with was recalled.
I once read that when a bricklayer was hypnotized he could recall the fine details of every wall he had ever built.
Does this mean that in some dark corner of my brain I know how many carrot seeds I ever planted ?? ;D

Thanks BarriedaleNick - sadly my machine refused to install it because it said "author not verified", or something like that :'(
I like it when you Google something odd like "Fluorescent Platypus Magnet", and the Sponsored Ads go
- Looking for Fluorescent Platypus Magnets?
- Save ££££'s on Fluorescent Platypus Magnets...........
;D

here's a funny thing..........
read a piece on the bbc site about a sci-fi film Sir Patrick Moore did in the 50's. So Googled the bloke that made it "Desmond Leslie". Amusing chap. He's the one who thumped Bernard Levin live on TV on TW3. It's on youtube
Then Googled the film "Them and the Thing"
the sponsored ad comes up
Thing Leslie
Compare prices on Thing Leslie
from hundreds of UK retailers
Google is giving me ads based on the search i'm doing now, and the one before that combined
Google is far more cunning than we like to realise!
I have a google account, gmail, iGoogle home page etc so Google pretty much knows how I use the net and where I go etc.
Just now amongst the greenhouse ads I have just seen an ad for monitoring tools for ISA server.
Google "knows" that I have been searching for tech articles on ISA server over the last few weeks so serves me some ads about it.
Even without a google account google will have some info on you - such as searches you have made - and will serve up personal ads based on what it knows.
could be a new Googlewhack. Do some searches to get Google to give you ads for the most ridiculous or bizarre things imaginable
Slightly reassuring how literal and unimaginative the Google algorithms seem to be. Suppose it gave you something that was precisely what you were thinking.......
