Title: Oddball squash quwstion
Post by: chriscross1966 on August 09, 2010, 01:14:31
I've got a squash that the packet declared to be TOndo di Padana. All the others from the pack have come up wsith fruit as I'd expect, big globr things.... THis ones more elongate (but not a banana squash) and it's got a mix of colours..... the stem end is basicvally green IIRC, the flower end basicallly yellow.... what is it?

Sounds like you got an accidentally crossed seed in your packet - it happens.

There is a courgette that grows green at one end and yellow all the rest, is it bright yellow and grass green, a bush and a pepo?

If not I think Galina is right or packets have got mixed

A quick google finds it referred to 9on the first page) as a moschata, a maxima and a pepo...... wierd .... oh well.....I'll grow it out and see what it's like.... the other TOndo Padana I have in look like they're true to type..... I was a bit thrown by it cos the only other bicolour like that I've seen was in the Compleat Squash book I've got.....
