Title: Compost activator
Post by: Jim B on December 15, 2004, 10:47:36
I have a compost system on my allotment plus a wormery in my garden at home.  The wormery (A 'Can-O-Worms' system) produces a liquid feed that is recommended to be used 1 part feed to 10 parts water.  What I was wondering is while it is winter and I have no need for feed for plants, is it possible to use this feed as an activator in my compost bin at my allotment?  If so how much is 'safe' to use (diluted or undiluted?) and how often is it best to apply it?

Hi,
I would say bottle your liquid feed plastic bottles half to three quarter full for next years plants home and lottie.
As for the lottie compost heap best acitvator is humane waste water if you drink newcastle brown ale the by product bottle it and great for leeks on lottie.
First thing in the morning is best more active and it does get the heap going.
P/s also good for removing moles off lottie tried and tested. good luck
