Title: Prunig plum tree.
Post by: grannyjanny on July 28, 2010, 08:50:41
We have a plum tree in a pot as we don't have the room for it. We are going to take it daughters plot but it won't fit in the car as it is. Have we left it to late to give it a light prune please?

I take it that it hasn't blossomed yet otherwise pruning might take out fruiting spurs  :)

Even if you do, it'll grow back. A couple of years ago I bought an overgrown Victoria at Homebase, and had to hack the top off before I could transport it. It's recovered with no problems at all.
