Title: potato sizes
Post by: queenbee on July 19, 2010, 22:31:02
Teegee mentions how the farmer graded potato size. My uncle had a smallholding and any potato under the size of a hens egg was fed to the pigs as he know nobody would buy them anyway. Today they bag them up and call them Baby Pearl, £1 for a small bag. These are not new potatoes but old ones. Mention the word 'baby' and we all go gaga. Whoever thought this up must have been laughing all the way to the bank. Any comments????

With the current lack of water on my allotment, all of my veggies are babies.  I could make a fortune!

Mine too. Except my pumpkins, I have at least a dozen of them and half of them are already twice the size of supermarket ones. Come October I'll need a trailer to carry them home.
