i grew cauliflowers from plug plants and they are all leaves no heart at all despite being huge the leaves are closing around as if a heart will grow inside but nothing yet any ideas? or am i expecting too much too soon?
You are too impatient! ;) ;D
They will heart up and from your description they are just beginning to do just that :)
As Fork says patience, don,t let them check give them a little drink every day
water every day - they love a drink, oh and stop looking at them, they are shy, it's a bit like watching a kettle boil......
I agree Patience!

Well that can depend on a few things e.g. variety, weather, soil but I find three to four weeks is a pretty fair average!
I have several at stage two. Not sure when to pick them.
I too have 3 at stage 2 and too am wondering when I can stop drooling and start eating.
I have had several at stage 6 and they where delicious
Prompted me to take off the netting and peer inside the huge leaves - 8 large "autumn" cauliflower heads!
Environmesh walls = early maturing plants - keep your eye on the ball!!!!
I am envious! I have had to dig mine up today. They just did not heart up. Started off well and then seemed to blow open. This is my 3rd year and have not yet succeeded. Tips would be welcome.
