Has anyone ever grown Pandan leaf (sometimes called rampe) - one of the main ingredients in Sri Lankan curries. If so, where did you get the seeds?

Seems that pandanus amaryllifolius is more or less sterile and propagated from offshoots or cuttings.

Might have problems bringing in through customs - will need to check that out and whether the west of scotland will be a suitable environment to grow it in. Thanks for coming back to me.
Pandan. Now that brings back memories of the guy carrying his kit on his back then stopping in the street outside the house in Jakarta. He would then steam bright green little cakes to sell as snacks.

I don't know about seeds. I believe you grow them from suckers. For years I've been yearning for this plant. As I wasn't able to grow it, I had to purchase the leaves from the chinese supermarket. If you know where to get this plant in Uk, do get in touch with me please.
