Hi there! Not long moved into my new place :) , I'm in need of some plants to fill in the gaps. I'm hoping for shrub cuttings / material for me to take cuttings...and lots of it!! :) :) (especially hibiscus, lavetera<that may be spelled incorrectly>)
Anything really, perennials, seeds (I'm trying to move away from annuals).
I have to swap: LOTS of veg seeds
A very limited number of small pink pampas grass plugs...nicotiana plugs..
Small plants of callistemon rigidus ( Hardy bottle brush) THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL! But will need cover/greenhouse this winter.
Oriental poppy seeds
Pink aquilegia (grannys bonnett seedlings/and or seed!)
Red ground cover (not sure of the name)
Let me know guys! I'm a little desperate now because the growing season is quickly running out!

FORGOT SOME!
I have 2 very small rooted cuttings of hardy Fuschia 'tom thumb'. Grows Massive + needs cutting right back to original frame every year.
And I have 2 rooted cuttings of a variagated shrub (low growing, almost ground cover) but could probably be trained into just about anything...and I rooted a non-variagated branch of it too! which is more vigourous...
I am more than happy to accept non-rooted clippings in return. I love taking cuttings of everything! And I am more than happy to offer plants with no return, but within reason please!
Could you give me a couple of days to look round the garden ro see if there's anything I can offer.
Off the top of my head:
Seedwise
Campanula Lactiflora
Dierama pulcherrimum
Gentian asclepiaedea (willow gentian)
Shrubwise
Hydrangea paniculata, which would be 'dig up a bit' rather than taking cuttings.
Perennial plants
Astilbe
Hostas
Iris sibirica
a variety of adenophora (related to campanula)
all of which would be 'dig up a bit'. ;D
If this is of any help.

WOW! :) A bit of whatever is 'cheap to post' :) Thankyou!
What would you like in return? I have lots of 'odds and ends' floating around!
Perennial Lupins (russel hybrids) each plant's around 25cm
Nicotiana
Kale plugs
Aquilegia seedlings and seeds (pink, or yellow + pink - but yellow and pink are seeds only)
fuschia cuttings (hardy 'tom thumb')
Lots of veg/flower seeds
Pampas grass - The pink variety
I have 'Sarah's Delta' a blue fuschia....The cuttings are half way toward being rooted if you wanted to hang around for those?
Let me kow :)
Leesa xx
As I say, in a couple of days I can give a better list.
To the seeds I can probably add meconopsis.
I'll come back to you as quickly as I can.
I usually don't like to nit pick, but your fuchsia is Delta's Sarah, and I have it. Delta is a prefix for several varieties. The only other Delta varieties I have are Parade and Rien.
We have lived here for 30+ years, and as you can imagine, we are suffering from the opposite of your problem, ie very little space left to plant anything.
There are some plants which are total, absolute and utter thugs, which will fill a space, but, given half a chance will overtake the garden.
You need to be a bit selective.
I'll get back shortly.

Hello! Thanks for your reply :)
I had no idea ! I just thought that is was the cultivar....
This is the one:
http://www.thompson-morgan.com/plants1/product/p4148/1.html
That's where I bought it from..... Just thought it was pretty and unusual :)
I can't be selective at the moment...I have a MASSIVE empty garden! Apart from 1/3 of it which is crammed with all things edible ! My favourite of which is my exploding cucumber!!! I'll have lots of seeds to offer of it here soon.. Talk about no maintainance! I only planted one plant in the greenhouse, and already I have literally HUNDREDS of green pepper like pods. They taste very nice too! They can be eaten raw in salads, or cooked much the same as you would cook peppers.
Has anyone ever grown exploding cucumbers before? I've grown something VERY similar called ACHOCHA, and had 100's of fruits from that too. It's very difficult to find seed for it though, the only place for achocha that I've found is a foriegn shop on ebay.
Valmarg:
Forgot to say that I'm more than happy to pay for postage! If you wanted to offload ( :) ) plants I can send a courier for large things, or send you the stamps/money for postage for small things.
I am more than happy to do the same for you, I can send as much or as little as you like.
Do you keep house plants? I only have a few, but am in love with my variagated aspidistra! There's quite a few off-sets now if you're interested.
Sorry leessa I've taken a bit longer that I said, but I've been a bit tied up. I am hoping to go out into the garden tomorrow, so should be able to give you a better list.

Can only assume that as you have not bothered to pm me your address, you are no longer interested. ???
