I wonder how many of you out there are like me and know some very generous people and feel sometimes that saying thank you is just not enough.
Since I returned to Canada it is not so easy for someone to pop something in the mail, the postal cost is higher and it often involves a bit more arranging to send something to another country.
I find that A4Aers are very generous people and will often share a very precious pinch of seed with another gardener, sometimes the "pinch" might be half they have of a specific treasured variety and it is at times like this that a quiet thank you seems not enough.
It is not my intention to embarrass anyone or indeed to single anyone out but I do want to take this moment to say how blessed I feel to have friends like many of you are, wether it is a favourite spud that is not available here or a special rare veggie that very few folks have and someone picks me to share it with. It is especially heart warming when it comes as as surprise gift, and opening a parcel reveals a tub of much missed Bisto which makes me laugh, and indeed cry at the same time.
So I need to say a big thank you, your kindnesses are appreciated so much and it is often hard to convey just how much your specail gifts mean to me. A4A has almost become my family and it is one I treasure .
Thank you and I repeat, I feel very blessed.

I have two thank-yous:
1) To everyone who's posted advice that I've found useful or simply worth musing over. I've learned so much in the past few months. :)
2 ) To Jeannine for the gift of seeds recently - they are much appreciated and your experience and know-how, so freely shared, are invaluable to others. :)
Here's something I want to give back to any A4A-er to whom it might appeal - a book recommendation for 'Thanks! How Practicing Gratitude Can Make You Happier' by Robert Emmons. When one of my sisters died suddenly in December, my sleep was very disturbed and the advice in this book helped it return to normal within a few weeks.
If anyone reading this thread has noticed their mood lifting as they read, they - you? - will see the potential of saying thank-you often.
So that'll be another thank-you to Jeannine, for starting the thread! ;D ;D ;D
Well thank you for saying that.. yes I agree I am a huge fan of thank you.. I have a problem with please though.
The book sounds wonderful(one of my favourite words) and I aim to look into it.
Thank you.

I'd like to thank every one on A4A for making it such a lovely place to be.
My late Mother used to say cleanliness, manners & a smile don't cost anything but are priceless.
