Hi All - i,ve got some Winter Cobnut squash on the plot and was wondering if anyone knows whether or not is should pull some of the fruits off to allow better growth on the remainder.
Theres about 7 or 8 small 2" fruits on at the moment, so i'm not sure how to go on.
Whereabouts on the plant should i pull them from if i need to?
Also are these self pollenating or di i have to give them some help?
Many thanks in advance
If you're giving them help make sure it's from a cucurbita moschata strain. I leave them, smaller squash are more useful in th ekitchen, it doesn't normally affect the ripening timescale if there's more fruit, just the size.......

Have you tried hilling some soil over some of the joints to get extra roots growing along the long stems to increase the nourishment of the plant? I'm trying that this year. Also it helps if some part of the vine gets damaged they say. I'm not sure if this works with the bush variety.
