Title: Is it just me
Post by: shirlton on July 07, 2010, 09:08:04
I hate it when I have to stay home and do the garden when all I really want is to go to the allotment.

Live in a flat, no garden, so no problem for me. Which reminds me......should be off to lottie NOW.

Ray's in bed, ill, I've knackered myself cleaning so, only thing to do is sit with a cuppa and talk to you, nice but I'd rather be on the plot 'cos daytime TV sucks  ;D

Record what you really like, then in those TV moments you can watch what you really like.

I watched Mary Queen of shops in the early hours.I am her devoted fan.She is so cool  ;D

Tone and I usually end up watching playback cos we are in bed by ten when the decent programmes come on. Hope Ray feels better soon

Hope Ray soon feels better. Allotment withdrawal is sooooooo painful. We're in by 10pm too ;D ;D. Must be contagious ;).

I know the feeling, need to get my hair cut, go to dentist and optician but keep putting it off as it is time wasted when I could be at the lovely allotment.  So exciting even if I only get a bit of mint and spinach and enough peas for half a portion.  Must stop digging things up or picking before they are ready, I am so impatient.

My OH has complained long and hard the past two years that our home garden is looking neglected compared to the allotment.........I say , if it bothers you, you can always have a go! ::) ::) ::)

I did have a really good hack back into the wilderness last week, and I must admit it looks a lot more cared for now. There were more brambles than at the lottie! ;D

I always prefer to go to the allotment than work in my garden at home. Sometimes I go to the allotment just to look at veggies growing, think and plan. I never do that in the home garden. Yesterday I said to OH that I was just popping over to the allotment and would be back in 20 mins. I was there for nearly 2 hours!! :-[

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who would rather be at the allotment than doing the home garden. We are quite good with the housework cos we do that on rainy days. Its getting a bit dusty lately.

Sorry to hear Ray is poorly! Give him a hug from me! I am really comforted to hear that other folks' gardens get neglected. Mine is a wilderness at the moment but will be getting the "short back and sides" treatment next week when I have finished my six week stint of examining.I am redesigning my gRden which has outgrown the planting plan of 20 years ago!!!
The thing is,with the allotment, if you're not there regulRly things go to waste, so it always takes priority.

goes and digs up 20lb of spuds so now feels worn out  ::)

Nowt like a few hours at the allotment to lift your spirits. It always marvels me how fast the time flies when we are up there.

well I am often in bed by 9  :P but am always so tempted to go down to the allotment at 4 in the morning when it is already light at this time of year - must be lovely to do that

note to self! what's stopping me  ;D

Every year i tell my self I'm not going to spend all my time down the plot, and  spend more time  in the garden at home, but every year the plot wins and OH tells everybody she's an allotment widow but like i say all me pretties look after them selves but me baby's need all the TLC they can get. ;D
