Our allotments were burgled Sunday evening /night /Mon morning!
We have had a few shed brake-ins before........mainly kids I think, but this was different.
There must have been a few of them with bolt croppers and transport. They systematically went through all the sheds and took any power tools, petrol or nice looking hand tools.
The even took someone's collection of seeds!
I have a rickety old shed and don't leave anything of ( monetary ) value up there........( It's all valuable to me!) other people were not so lucky.
generators, mowers and rotavators all went missing......heat breaking.
It seem so planned I wouldn't be surprised if they were working their way thought all the allotments in the area.
Swindon allotment holders ...........be ware!
So sorry to hear this, it's really upsetting when it happens. I don't even put stuff in my shed now, and never lock the door either.
I would be more upset about them trampling over my beds than anything else.
Sorry to hear that some rats have burgled your site. How horrible for you all.
keep a look out on the car boot sales this sunday for your stuff.
I hope that these people are caught and then you can put it to rest.

Things like this always mar the enjoyment of having an allotment.
I really feel for you, it's awful. Hope it doesn't spoil your enjoyment too much, thinking about it.
Sorry to read about this. We had problems here in Norwich a while back, but nothing so organised and criminal.
Since getting my first allotment about 15 years ago I have had hens stolen, various veg (potatoes to young plants), also a lot of damage to sheds.
I thought it was safe now, but today I found the fence pushed down, and footprints over the garden. They did no real damage this time, but am sure they will be back. A few years ago an allotment veteran told me not to be a victim, just to get on with gardening, so they don't win. It is very difficult, but was good advice I think.
Time to leave garden tools laying about among the plants, instead of in the shed.
How awful, it makes me really sad when hear this type of news.
If its any consolation we've had minor things taken in the past but a few days ago 2 chickens were stolen. Some persons managed to sneak on to the allotment , onto the tenants plot and lifted the roof of the hen's house (night time) and walked away with them.........
We are not allowed sheds on our Council allotments, so far had not have any damage to crops. We have a locked shed with small lockers, which they break into but decided that nothing of value, spades and forks etc. and just managed to damage the door.
