Title: Pumpkin + butternet squash

Hi I have planted these far too close together. Can I move them ?

How close have you planted them?
I planted my winter squash closer than recommended but they are trailing off to the next bed with the sweet corn in, so should have enough space.

Train themn dfferent directions... they'll sulk like crazy if you move them now and butternuts ar elate croppers at the best of times.....

Dawn, you probably can still move them, it depends on how big they are and at what point they are in their growth. I have moved them in full flower with no problems but you have to prepare the areas well  etc. How close are they now, what type of butternut, some are bush and might not take up as much space as you think, same with the pumpkin, depending on which one it is.. and you may be able to direct them. Lots of ifs, but most can be got around.

Thanks peeps but I have decided to leave them as they are !!. I must remember next year to plant them on hillocks several feet apart,!!!
