Title: red currants- need an idea

Ive got quite a few to use, anyone got a good idea what i can use with them?!!!!

I made redcurrant vodka a couple of years ago which was great on ice cream. Buy 2 bottles, drink one, fill empty bottle with currants & some sugar, top up with vodka from the other bottle & wait until winter...

Also they freeze brilliantly & make great dessert jelly (with some plain gelatine & sugar).

thanks, just made a swiss roll and use the red currants as a jelly filling, took less then an hour all in:)

If you juice them or make cordial..it is almost like cranberry juice.. ;)
Fruit pies..tarts...nice with mix berry jams..

Well the theory goes you make redcurrant wine with bananas for body, then you cold distill it into Redcurrant Gin. This is ofc illegal in the UK.

You can use the juice from redcurrants to help set strawberry jam.
You can make cumberland sauce, I do it with shallots, mustard, apple, orange, it's good with poultry and lamb.
