Title: suckers on sweetcorn plants
Post by: Karen Atkinson on July 02, 2010, 07:03:02
I've got what look like suckers on sweetcorn plants in my garden and I've been advised to remove these. Why is this? Should they only have one main stem then?

Noo....!...from me too ..they are not actual suckers..just side shoots...but those shoots do not harm your main stem..quite opposite...they are actually contributing 'for whole well being of the plant'.. ::) by taking up nutrients and sun light they feed the one as whole... ;)
