Post by: angle shades on June 30, 2010, 12:55:08
:) you were kind enough to send me some of these seeds in a tom swap,

my question is how do they grow? :P

mine seem to have set one truss and have no lead shoot! ;D that's not right is it?! just a lovely healthy compact plant/ shades x

Hi shades...I hope you don't mind..but I could help you with your  questions..
Ananas Noir is cordon type tomato..so you should have a leader shoot and all side ones removed..
If you have 'lost' your leader...called going 'blind' only thing you can do is to let one of the side shoot lower down to grow and then tie it up as new leader ;) Going blind does happen some times..this year I  have few too..(different varieties)
..maybe it is weather related..who  knows.. ???

Hi-yes it is a cordon so should not have stopped that early. Mine was nothing special last year though-it was in the back end of the poly tunnel so I put it down to position.

Maybe it`s not one to stay with??

;D thanks for the replies folks... the plant isn't even sending shoots up anywhere,   and has a prime spot in the greenhouse.

I forgot I had planted a spare outside (only noticed when watering today) and it's going crazy.... maybe it likes to be outside??

will do a taste test when the time comes and see if its worth growing again.

thanks again/ shades x
