Title: Just a glimpse
Post by: macmac on June 28, 2010, 22:51:36
On the lottie at 7.30 and heard a crow "shouting" it was chasing a FOX !
I'm sure all the poultry keepers will be growling but I felt blessed.I know they have a bad press but wonderful to see.
Still not sure why the crow was in pursuit ?

A lot of birds will mob predators, harassing them and making a lot of noise. It sometimes drives the predator off, and it warns other animals about their presence.

I've seen a clattering of jackdaws mob a cat, swooping on it en-mass like something from The Birds.  Corvids are intelligent, sentient animals, I think they're just having a laugh.
