Title: confesion and new allotment
Post by: ipt8 on June 26, 2010, 07:11:21
OK I confess I have been a member of this site for a few years but never actually had an allotment. I have a large polytunnel and a few bits and bobs in the garden  OH has poultry free ranging you see, and our Huskies have a large free running area.

So I have taken the plunge and am going to look at an allotment site today.

Oddly enough I only enquired last week and find plots are spare. Mind you this is a small privately rented allotment site on the forestry/agricultural Estate where I work. It was run down for years. So I could have an interesting challenge. The plots will be overgrown for sure. Plot holders are individually fencing against the deer and rabbits ::). My employer, the owner of the land lets someone else run it you see and basically leaves it to them. There is no fencing, no water, and the ground is typical greensand that we have in this area which is Surrey.

An interesting challenge 8)
