Title: shredded hemp?
Post by: nilly71 on June 24, 2010, 17:31:33
I collect chicken manure from a local lady, she said it's with shredded hemp. Is this ok to compost/manure heap or is it the same as sawdust and best left off the plot?

Thanks
Neil

Hi Nilly. I think she might mean hemcore. Have a google on it. I use it for my guinea pigs & chickens. It's brilliant stuff & can go in the composter. I think I read it composts down quickly & the chicken manure will accelerate it. HTH.

Just had a google & it can be spread on organic farmland so it should be fine.
