Title: Broad beans
Post by: boldielocks on June 23, 2010, 10:15:14
Is it to late to plant some broad beans? I'm thinking about a crop for later in the year.  :)

I have never grown beans before, but found these.  If you are quick and depending where you live in the country, you should still get a harvest.  All be it a few beans less than an early sowing:

Worth a try if you have spare seeds. My experience is that the dreaded blackfly have gone somewhere else, but diseases like rust and chocolate spot are more likely on late sowings.

give it a go. I think you'll get a good crop around September
