I'm afraid to ask...uh, what are those on your avatar called?
Also, have you ever tried a winter squash that has Vermont in its name? Can't remember its full name but it is supposed to be sweet enough to make a pie without sugar...sounds a bit fishy to me.
There is a pumpkin called Vermont , but it just another alias for Connecticut Field.
There is a sweet one called New England,( you will see the connection to Vermont) it is considered good for pies beause it is one of the sweeter ones as is Sweet Sugar which is one of the ones I use, but I still use sugar.
I have recipe that doesn't use sugar but Vermont maple sugar...
That is far as my thinking takes me without researching. :)
The avatar is Pennsylvania Crookneck, winter type, excellent.
Oh and it is on my freebie list..

now if we are blaming people then I blame grannnieannie for nurturing the seeds as young plants, providing perfect growing conditions and being a great gardener ;D ( I love blam culture ;) )
By the way - those squash aren't actually going to start growing up the Spruce tree are they?! :D ;) :D
1066 :)

They'll probably swamp the little white pine if they aren't checked.
Crown Prince has now grown marched past the deck and behind some large hydrangeas and come out the other side to skirmish with a butternut. Guess he'll take that territory also as world domination is his hidden agenda. No danger to UK as he is heading westerly. ;D
Phew! Don't need anymore this direction !
As for next year, I have a few more ideas ............. ;D ;D ;D

That sounds a tad ominous. Should we begin being worried or change addresses quickly?
