I hate both to be honest but was the budget planned to co-incide with the final ENGLAND game?
If so WHY?
Thought the budget was on Tuesday and England's match Wednesday...
Jill is correct, Budget on Tuesday, don't know when the Final England game is, maybe Wednesday, hope not.
The football is on Wednesday afternoon at 3pm so they don't clash.
Thanks for that. It was my suspicious mind thinking that we would have very little time to consider the implications of an austere budget before we had to consider the future of the England side in the world cup to grab our attention ......
Having the budget the day before the match means we will have almost a whole day before we (and the newsapers) have something more important to talk about.
Any government worth it's salt would have made sure there was a clash. It's called burying the bad news.

Aye and thankfully my boss goes home about 2.45pm so I'll have it on the radio ;D (just hoping the big boss doesn't decide to spend the afternoon at the office!!)
they're habing the budget the day before the match so George Os can slap a windfall tax on red and white flags before it's too late
May be red and white flags and other related paraphernalia will be on sale at half price or less on Thursday.
