sorry but how big is a rod
Googled it, 51/2 yards. How many have you got ;).
just depends how big a fish u wanna catch ;D ;D
;D ;D ;D.
Rod Stewart's about 5' 8 I think. ;D ;D ;D :P
A square rod is a touch over 25 square meters, so if sombody says that have a 10 rod plot then there plot is just over 250 square meters or 2700 Sq ft.
A rod, pole, perch, and lug are all 5.5 yards square, which as Chrispy says, is near as makes no difference 25m2.
There's also a rood, and that's a quarter of an acre or 40 rods.
A rod/pole/perch was the length of a ploughshare and horse and driver, from the tip of the horses nose to the trailing heel of the driver - 5.5 yards
Its also a measure of area - 5.5 x 5.5 yards = 30.25 square yards. This is 1 Pole.
A standard size allotment is the amount of land reckoned to be needed to feed a family of four, ei 17 poles or 514 square yards.
There are, therefore, just under 8 standard allotments in an acre (4046.85 square yards).

There are 160 poles to the acre, and that's 4840 sq yds.
An acre is a chain by a furlong, and there are four poles to the chain, and ten chains to the furlong.
wow now that told me thanks every one
