Title: Hampton Court- which day?
Post by: caroline7758 on June 19, 2010, 17:51:59
We are thinking of going to Hampton Court flower show this year. We went 2 years ago for the gala preview ( treat for my 50th) but want to do it more cheaply this time. Has anyone been on a 3p.m.to 7:30 ticket- if so is this long enough? And is any day quieter or better for any reason? I am an RHS member.

Hi,

I've been twice - and always on the first day, when rhs members only can attend.  It's less of a squash (still very busy tho).

I would say you need most of the day to do it justice.  Have a lovely time whatever you decide.

We do the afternoon ticket most years and for me its just right, it is a little quieter then and you can get round quicker and see more.  I love the shows but 3 hours is quite enough for me, a whole day and I would be ready for a remake of that film 'Falling Down'!!

Every few years we do the preview evening (this year is the year) which I also love but have to be careful not to bring out the credit card after the complementary champagne has been quaffed.....
