:)
Well I reckon folk up and down the country today will be writing their Xhristmas Cards. Each year we dig out the old address book or look for a Xhristmas Card list somewhere to sit down and write cards. I may be wrong, but I am sure it is the ladies who have this job. Wonder why we do it? I know I write cards to folk I never see nowadays and I suppose it is just a reminder to them to let them know we are still around. At one time, I wrote endless letters with the cards but I have given that up now. I know one relative has adopted the American method of writing a piece on his computer and sending out what the whole family have been up to during the past year. I think that is a good idea really but one I will not adopt. So cheer up girls, up and down the country, if you are the Xmas card writer, they will soon be done with for another year. Where is my blasted pen. I keep losing it and then get another then another.
:) :)
try print them out ;D duno why i am saying that looking for my pen as i write all mine as well
Have mine written, just gotta drop them in the box. I used to be very efficient, individual notes in each, sent out first class on the first of December...... now...with my whirlwind life, they are all done, but will I get to the post box before last posting day!!!!!
Have written a couple of cards which have stamps on - they have been sitting on the mantlepiece for a few days now.....
Just posted most of mine today!!! Only a couple left as I don't know their new addresses. Got all my pressies wrapped too. ::)
Eileen.
Wow Eileen - can you come and do all mine please?
Just started the prezzie shopping (I hate doing it), not even thought about cards, BUT - have put the tree and decorations up cause I love that bit of Christmas. The house looks all warm and lovely, so will have to get everything else done now ready for the family to arrive
WOW some of you are really organised aren't you ::) Haven't written one card yet even though a few have started arriving. Have been a bit lazy though and ordered a few pressies off the net. Much easier on the old feet than traipsing round the shops ;) ;D
One tip for you all though - don't know if anyone has done this - I save all the previous year's cards and then, using pinking shears cut out pictures and shapes, thread through sparkley ties and use them as gift tags. Cheaper than buying them and I think much nicer and original.
Pat
PS By the way, like your new avatar Emma - I must say you look a bit sad though, are the preparations all getting a bit too much for you ;) :)
I haven't even bought mine yet. That's down on my list to do on Wednesday after riding.
I do that too with the old cards, Pat.
Our tree went up on Saturday, and fell down today........feeling VERY bah humbug as it soaked all the pressies I had wrapped and smashed a few baubles, I stuck it back up in disgust and it is looking VERY sorry for itself with everything a little squewiff and in need if re-arranging! It will be back to it's former glory tomorrow!
Have just written my 3 year old son's cards for all the girls & boys in his playgroup!!!!
Next year he can do his own MV. Number one daughter started writing hers about 3 weeks ago, a couple a night, 32 to do, then of course there are the teachers and 'other' friends. Number one son cleared his in one night, he is going to be a brain surgeon don't you know! ;D
I will post mine tomorrow............if I remember to take them with me!
Have posted most of my cards now, just the odd one to write a personal note on. We have just started putting up our vast array of decoration. My husband took this pic from outside our house to show a few that he had put up outside. What do you think? Christmassy or what?
Wow - that is nothing compared with the houses round here - I will eventually get round to taking photos and posting them on here!
I have started to post the christmas cards ;D
