Title: Mildew on gooseberry.
Post by: grannyjanny on June 12, 2010, 19:43:48
I noticed some mildew on daughter gooseberry, it's either Pax or Hinnonmaki. Is there a "natural" I can use please. I think the berries were affected too.

I use a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in a litre of water.  Spray every few days until no further signs of powdery mildew.  I hasten to add that I don't grow Gooseberries but this solution works on other edibles.  Good luck.

bicarb works well with a tabelspoon of corn oil - it helps the mix stick and spread.

Use full fat milk and dont worry if the batch is 'going off' it will actually work better.
