And / or tennis.
I guess my lottie is going to be absolutely weed free for the next 4 weeks
Yep totally Bored already and there will be nothing on TV either :o
lucky we have a tv free place to go really,we can all avoid it by hiding at our lotties. although OH is desperately trying to figure a way of powering a telly up there!
make allotments footie free ;D ;D ;D
i agree gracie! ;D
if you do decide to decorate your car with flags, you should consider that drag reduces your car's efficiency by about 3%. The average car, when sporting 2 flags will burn an extra litre of fuel per hour when running at an average speed of 7 mph.
Oh yes :'(
No, I don't mind football at all and I listen to it on TalkSport while I'm on the computer ...............but...............those bl**dy vuvuzelas will drive me mad by the end of it!

i hear today that a certain person close to me plans on decorating his shed, good job we have a shed each really! ;D
Wash your mouth out :o
Its the beautiful game & I love the world cup but understand its not for everyone!
I won't much much of Wimbledon, semi's and final probably.
The Government, concerned that men's willies are getting smaller have tasked the NHS to investigate how big the problem is -- to get some idea they have asked all men who's willies are smaller than 3" to put a white flag with a red cross, on their car !!!

There was a program on TV with J.C, about this sort of thing. I remember I was surprised how much more petrol you use with a bicycle on top. Also I am told if I use the air conditioning in my car it will use a lot more fuel. One firm has banned their van drivers from using it.
;D ;D
I'm waiiting to hear about the first accident caused because the driver couldn't see out of his windows! >:(
22 hair laquered puffs chaseing a bag of wind around a field !!!
GET A LIFE
Not bored - just not interested!
It's pretty easy to avoid really, well it is for me - no one in the office or at home is remotely interested..
OH has declared our house a World Cup free zone. Anyone is welcome to take refuge. But it will be hard to get away from it - next door's downstairs windows are completely obscured by flags!!!!. Each to their own - I'm off up the lottie folks!
Regrds, Caro
We are supposed to be getting a huge screen put up tomorrow. I will not be working at the time of our first match.
COME ON ENGLAND
what football?
Yes, but this made me smile! 8)

Re: Anyone else already bored stupid with the football ?
No, I am really looking forward to it but haven't got the flags out yet as I can't remember where I put them.
Come on England Come on England Come on England Come on England
Bored out of my mind with it all, BUT I'm so very very pleased that it is being hosted in Africa. I am delighted for the pleasure and pride this is bringing to all my dear African friends, some who come from some of the poorest countries in the world. :) :) :)
It would be worse if it was hosted here.
Tennis is a lot more boring than football, why can't they have a normal scoring system like other sports.
boooooooooooo to football. Even bigger booooooooooo to the person that bought the kid next door one of those trumpet honker things!
My St Georges is hanging from my bedroom window, my flags are on my car, I've just watched the first game and what a game, if you don't like it don't watch it, if your fed up of hearing about it, don't talk about it.
Come On England and Jimbo I think its u that should be getting a life, stick to your boring u tube. :P :-* ;D ;D ;D
As a Scot, I shall be supporting Engerland. Reason: well you are our neighbours but another thing, we bought a new TV today from Currys and for each goal England scores we get £10 back. Think I will buy a St. George's flag and annoy the neighbours.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I can appreciate that those who do not like football are fed up of it currently monopolising the tv, radio and newspapers but ....
.... I bloody love it and I shall enjoy it all!!! Family BBQ tomorrow followed by England's first game and I can't wait!
COME ON ENGLAND!!! (http://www.webmaster-tool.co.uk/flag-animated/Flag-St-George.gif) ;D ;D
and LOL @ Carol ;D
Proudly flying the flag on my veggie patch ;D
(http://i50.tinypic.com/2dca53l.jpg)
I am not a footie fan but will be cheering England on. Two of my Grandsons are football mad and one plays for local club so it is an enjoyable pastime for them. My great love is snooker, watch every frame that is on TV but no doubt there are many people who will probably say "Funny woman lol" I just switch off TV if there is nothing else I am interested in, just sit and read a book (second love). Happy viewing/listening to all you footie fans.
Yes, thank goodness for the tennis..... :)
OMG kick-ball followed by bonk-bonk fortnight. ??? ???
There is life before death. ;D
valmarg
Bonk-bonk fortnight? I should be so lucky!
Tis the cricket season for goodness sake!
Only fly the flag on St George's Day.
With two men in the house I'll be up the plot too!
Ninny
What football.
yes tv is off there is a choice of football, tennis and big stupid brother!
I have a couple of audio books from the local Library currently harriet and i are listening to Wallander 'faceless killers' and terry practchett latest.
Plus i have about 10 DVDs i bought at christmas and never got around to watching.
Will be fitting in the weeding between the matches....we love it....have put up our flag and have watched both games today.
Can't wait for tomorrow. Come on England.
The football's a drag but I loved the opening ceremony.
I love huge volumes of people gathered together with smiles on their faces :)
I can hear you cynics groaning from here ;D
Yes bored and bracing for the rounds of drunken voilence that follow every big game on our estate. next door neighbour beats his girlfreind if his team looses after having a skinful.
Looking forward to a short run of losses before we are out rather than a long drawn out misery for all of us.
Go on south Africa!
x sunloving
Can't blame football for that behaviour.Blame the people themselves.
Actually no, i'm not bored with it this time. My 6 year old son has expressed an interest in watching it, why am I not bored with it? because he is Autistic and it is rare for him to be interested in something different.
:)
;D Hope you have some fun together.
Have loved seeing the joy this is bringing to Africa on the news, but re the football, can only say I am not 'bored' with it, just totally ignoring it! LOL
Hubby meanwhile is a tennis fanatic...ho hum....

Phone the police....
I hate football with a passion, and will not watch any of the games, but really proud of South Africa pulling it off with the Opening ceremony and showing the world they are a Rainbow nation!!
Proud to be South African at the moment!!!
BAFANA BAFANA!!!!
;D ;D ;D
My sister in law is South African so can just imagine two lots of cheers going on in their household.
That's lovely Mortality, hope you have lots of fun with your young man.

What does 2 signify then?
I think NZ may beat the Italians by scaring them with a Haka then confusing them by picking up the ball and running with it...that would be our only chance of scoring!
Just got home to find a house further down the road are having a football party outdoors with a band. They've just slipped into Kareoke now. I have never hated Thin Lizzy sooooo much. It is so loud and no way to escape it & I was looking forward to a quiet afternoon in the garden with a book and the wildlife. I can ony hope that the band are booked for a couple of hours and will then pack up.
I forgot to answer the question.....YES!
well yes i'm bored stupid by the football, but I was half way there before it started :D
I'm very bored with it but then I am Scottish.
yes i am and if those kids dont stop blowing the trumpets im gonna kill them
.......... and the comments ::) ::) ::). From OH BTW.
Why do you think I'm on here? ;D
1 goal ;D £10 refund yipeeee
It's not so much the football as all the in-your-face, over-the-top hype. Plus the endless build-up to the kick-off and then the after-match analysis etc, etc. I can't even do my shopping without having it shoved in my face.
People like football. Ok, I get it. But I don't. So please just leave me alone and stop trying to convert me.
CC
As I mentioned in another thread. I'm so pleased that my Tony aint into footie. He does however love fi motor racing
Drove passed a local pub yesterday on my back from the plot and all the red n white brigade are there sipping out (why not a glass??) bottles and chanting "where's ya flag ya wa**er"to all the car not sporting a flag that passed, thats good reason as any not to like football if you ask me...the fans.
A house on our road has been covered in white and red crosses. For the sake of balance, I draped a stars and stripes outside last night and have just ordered a Slovenian and an Algerian flag.

Bonk-bonk fortnight? I should be so lucky!
Sorry InfraDig, but the expression goes back many many years, before the word bonk took on its current meaning. Way back in the 50s/60s Giles always referred to Wimbledon as being bonk-bonk fortnight. ;D ;D

I agree that some of the fans leave much to be desired. However many fans do not act that way and just love the game.
Long time ago I used to live opposite Edgbaston cricket ground and there was never any trouble.Think a s far as fans go cricket has the best ones.
Keep flying the flags for England,we may go further than you think :)
Question
What is all this Foozball then?
Anyone think there was a cup to play for out there!
I'm loving it !
We don't have a telly so its a nice excuse to go to the local pub and watch the matches ;D ;D ;D
Saw a car the other day with 9 flags on it ::) :P :D
My neighbour has a england flag hung on the fence (actually my fence!!!!!! >:() and it keeps flipping over to my side....my OH is waiting for it to have an accident!!! he knows it's annoying me...it's annoying him even though he is English as it has 'The Sun' printed in the middle.
I said i'm not too bothered as when I've tied the rambling rose back onto the trellis the flag is going to catch on it and I might hang my NZ flag out the ensuite window tomorrow (overlooking neighbours back garden) ;D.....NZ by the way are most likely to finish last!...known as first at the wrong end. ;D
Absolutely no interest... but as the final is on my birthday I have agreed to watch the match if England make it that far... :-\
We're in Canada for the last two weeks of the WC (booo!) and this doughnut here booked us on a river rafting trip on the day of the final before realising, doh! ::) Have told other half that if England make it to the final, he'll be rafting alone ;D ;D
No not bored by the football. I've just been too busy to watch it. Between allotment and marking exams I've got no time at the moment.
Love the world cup.
Not a fan really but I switched on the telly to see what the fuss was about - prepared to chirp, "Hurrah for our side" with the best of `em. Deafened by the insistent tooth clenching drill of the wasp swarm so switched off.
I feel sorry for those who`ve been looking forward to watching the games.
Unless I`m being aurally oversensitive. :(
No I agree they are a pain those things. ;D
Can't stand football or golf or tennis or snooker or garnd prix racing or cricket or Tour de Farnce and so on. Huge waste of time and money.
Needless to say OH loves it all so, having taken a week off wirk to help me clearteh garden of weeds and do a few other jobs, he was up at 6:30 this morning to watch recordings of golf in the USA which lasted till 11am. He then worked for 90 minutes but then had to stop and feed Possum who is on half days at school as it's exams time. I got home from my lunch time English class at 3pm to find him dozing in front of football.
Now I'm reduced to typing up dance club minutes in order to avoid the droning of the latest futile 90 minutes from SA.
Grump.
More great games today, the flags are still flying on the car, sod the extra 5p petrol expense this month, its only every 4 years, I've 4 flags on the front of the house, baloons and bunting and if any one doesn't like it then tough. :P :-X ;) ;D ;D ;D
Football, tennis and cricket etc are games, enjoy and let someone win or be a good loser. It is went wrong when money was involved. Why pay money to people who play sport, give it to doctors, nurses, bin men etc. not people who play a game.

I've got an appointment on the 24th for my finger at the hossie, do you think they should check any where else. :P :P :P
Fed Up and Bored, when will my sport be shown Shove halfpenny?
Football is ok in very small quantities but can't say I am looking forward to the advent of the vuvuzela. Life may never be the same again.
Well knock me over with a feather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o :o :o
So i was wrong my team scored a goal and everyone in NZ has gone crazy....football is the new rugby!
Winston Reid walks on water!
Those poor Slovakians looked so,so miserable :'(
It was the Slovakian guy with the 'koru' tattooed on his arm he jinxed his team.
;D ;D ;D Kea !
I don't care really........I had them down as nil all the way.
Just as well I don't gamble!
Of course when little Kiwi boys start school at age 5 they play Rugby.
Football is something you do in PE at secondary school or if your parents want you to.
Girls play netball (which I hated with a passion!).
Oh, the delights of not having a television!! ;) ;D ;D ;D
but your missing springwatch :o :o :o :o

erm, ain't it summer by now? LOL
I watch the games with the sound turned off, it means I can't hear the awful whining noises.
Can't hear the vuvuzelas either.
Did you hear that the England squad were playing footie with 2 hedgehogs?
spectators were going to call the police until the hedgehogs went 1 up ;D ;D ;D
Still watching the football.
What an awful noise, gets to us too....spoils the atmosphere of the matches.
Also have had to turn sound off because our little dog Jake got very worried cos he thought it was bees and went and hid in his bed.
So sound is definitely a no go in our house.

Despite another surprise draw for NZ :o :o :o :o!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oooh, those flamin' trumpets, like having your head in a wasps nest, can't they fade them out? :(
I heard that OXO are doing a new range of cubes.
It's white, with a red cross on each side.
Called laughing stock!
have Our Brave Lads been practicing their penalties then?
****** Germany........ ???
My wife says i don`t have to watch the football "You can turn it over" so I did, flippin tennis good job we have allotments.
Grandad.
What football?
;D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7B2LPxggvqY
now if you crossed a vuvuzela with a kazoo wouldn't that be something?
80,000 South Africans blasting out the chorus for "Hey Jude" or "Go West"
or Beethoven's "Ode To Joy" ;D
A vuvuzoo?
surely a kazoovuzela.
Sounds great in a Geordie accent too
has any one else noticed a england game is a idea time to drive anywhere? you have to be carefull not to leave too early as the white n red flag brigade are too busy rushing home to the match to care about their driving. I am going on the M5 tomorrow morning and am hoping that not a lot of peeps will be heading down for a day out and that it will be quiet on the wayback north while the match is on
marg
Hasn't it went all quiet about England winning the World Cup
theothermarg. Quite agree, it was a pleasure to drive to Enfield yesterday (approx 2 hour journey) very little traffic on the A1. Guess we chose the right day lol
My OH has spent the last month watching every available game on TV - and that's a lot cos we get Belgian, French etc TV as well as the BBC - plus every golf tournament going and quite a bit of tennis.
This morning, while discussing plans for a future BBQ via email, he confesses to a friend that he has wasted a lot of time watching a disappointing World Cup. What's the betting he doesn't remember that next time round and watses just as much time again?
Still, at least now I should get more gardening time out of him and there are some jobs only he can do.
It wasn't the best world cup, but 240 smackers in my sky rocket made me a happy bunny last night. 8) ;D ;D ;D :P :-*
Been listening to the 8 legged psychic ??
I was hoping for a tip on this weeks golf, but I hear Paul is now in retirement - what a con.
