Post by: cambourne7 on June 10, 2010, 22:24:19
Hi All,

Been to the garden centre today (http://www.organicplants.co.uk/) and though i would share. I can now crack on and plant up seeds of the other herbs i want and i have plenty of colour to start moving the garden on :)

For £13 picked up a tray of 6 dahlias, a single specimen dahlia, 2 lime green foliage plants, one orange leaved foliage plant, 10 african marigolds, a beefsteak tomato plant, and some plug plants - 2 chervil, 2 thyme, 1 spearmint, 1 pumpkin, 4 courgettes, 6 runner beans, 10 Brussels sprout plants, assorted salad plants, 6 zinnias, 3 parsley, 2 celery, 6 chard plants plus a load more i cant get to at the bottom of the bag :)

Went with a friend who spent about £16 and we filled the back of the volvo :)

Harriet loved all the colours and was very well behaved :)

All the potted plants are outside enjoying the rain and i am going to plant on the plugs tomorrow into peat pots till i am ready for them :) which should only be a few days for this first area :)

Sounds like you had a good time there Louise! I always find it hard to resist plants especially when you can see them. Delfland stuff is good. I have bought it online in the past when the rabbits decimated my stuff and there was not enough time left to grow from seed.

Get them out of the bag fast! ;) ;)

A GREAT Nursery!! Great veg plants in sensible quantities.

That's why I keep plugging them.

Nice people.

yes there very nice there and i well be going again :)

must be my week for plant bargins :) been to pick up fish and chips for dinner popped into the co-op while my skate was being cooked to get some fresh bread for the morning and they were selling bags of bulbs for 20p picked up 5 bags of Hyacinths (all showing sign of growth 3 bulbs per packet)
and 5 packs of dafs (10 bulbs a pack but only half look healthy) either way perfect for the front garden which i am going to be clearing this weekend so they will be going straight into soil :) and for £2 even if i only get a few plants its still worth the risk :)
