Hi,
my 1st earlies went in on March 11th and i was wondering when i can start harvesting them as i am very keen to start munching them.
Some have flowered/are in flower.
do i need to leave them for another couple of weeks or longer than that.
cheers
Gently scrape away some soil from around the edge of a plant to feel and see the size of the spud. If right, pull em up, if you want them a bit bigger then just recover.
thank you
Mine were planted on the 16th....and with that frost a few weeks back ..I reckon they will be about 2wks late..even though the 12wks are now up...
Some are in flower, will still wait a wee bit longer....
I put my Charlottes in on 16th March, and firkled a bit yesterday with a trowel to find enough for a meal for 2 in seconds, and they were lovely. I'm going to dig some up properly tomorrow.
I think you are right digindep, the frost has set them back a wee bit so i will leave mine another week or so.thanks
ade
My swift lost all their foliage after being frosted and only starting to come back now. The later potatoes are further ahead :-\
just firkled enough for tonight's tea, sharpe's express, no flowers but hen's egg size spuds :)
Yes, dug them up, enough for 4. :)
