Does anyone think that these tomato plants look okay? Some are slightly lime green in colour and others aren't bulking up. They were planted out 2 weeks ago and are watered when they need it. I haven't fed them yet – I was planning on doing that today. They are all different varieties mixed together so they will look slightly different.

The lowest recorded temperature since I put them out has been 5 degrees. Could that be too low for them?
Julie
Yeah..they are fine... ;D That paleness is due to cool nights...otherwise they look perky strong plants so no worries..early days yet..soon you'll wonder 'where did this jungle came from'... ;)
Is that neighbouring plot on the background?

Yes I think they are OK
The colour scheme could be a physiological problem i.e. they are becoming accustommed to there new surroundings.
Bulking up will commence when they are acclimatised!.............Patience is the oder of the day my dear ;)

With what?
I never feed from the top dressing I give the bed at planting out time until the first truss is set!
Yes I would not feed neither...looks like your soil could do some organic matter..have you got anything to mulch you toms with..?
They look fine to me
Can anyone tell me why you should not feed your toms before the first truss is set please?
Hi there...it is not about that you should not...but there is no need...if there is lots of 'food' available..your toms will just put some lush growth on and formation of the flowers will be delayed...now which would you rather have loads of leaves or fruit... ;)
First trusses have set on all plants. What should I use for a mulch? I have lots of unused straw, will that be okay?
Plus I was thinking of using tomatorite as a feed.
