Title: Asparagus Pea - slow grower?
Post by: mark_h on May 28, 2010, 13:41:27
Hi all,
I thought I'd give Asparagus Pea a go down the lottie this year.    As the title says, they seem to grow rather slowly so are they typically a slow grower?

Thanks, Mark

I found them slow at first (and germination was not uniform). They do bush out eventually - don't forget to pick the pods when small (no longer than 1 1/2 ins 3-4 cms) or they become woody and inedible.

They grow slowly to allow you to dig them up before it`s too late. Nasty woody little things.

Once grown-seldom twice-pretty flowers though

Sorry but one of the few veggies I wouldn't grow again, anything over an inch or so gets awful very fast. XX Jeannine
