Title: Main crop spuds
Post by: Philbasford on May 27, 2010, 17:44:26
I put my main crop spuds in a week after i put in my earlies (end of march) and they are now overtaking my earlies!!!.

I am hoping this early start will help me over come slug and blight problems so they have in effect a longer season

maybe I am a killjoy, but it seems to me that the maincrops always have much more vigourous foliage, usually taller, than the earlies. I think it is to do with how the plant uses its energy over that short tubering period!

But I am sure you will get great spuds anyway!  ;D
