Asbean - just a very thick White Sauce, Nutmeg, Green Pepper & last minute Maldon.

Duke - sounds good. And the old Saag Aloo of course.

Have to admit. I grew it once and tried the leaves, then the stalks in various dishes but no one liked it.

Sorry Tim, your meals usually look, oh so very tempting but I have to admit this one looks like green sludge on a plate.

Your meals usually look brilliant  but I have to say, that one does not whet my whistle one little bit.

lol ;D ;D

As tempting as Bright Lights Chard looks on seed packets,  Never grown it myself.  Can't stand spinach flavour which is what I have been told it tastes like.

I adore spinach would eat it with every meal. Chard tastes nothing like it. Who ever told you it was, is a fat fiibber.

Sludge it is, Heather - no getting away from it. But delicious sludge!

But maybe you prefer brown gravy?

I think the puree looks good, I might try something like this.

I love chard - I've got rhubarb chard, taste not fantastic, but nice enough - and baby leaves nice in salad. I know what you mean about soil - a sort of minerally taste.

You can't beat swiss chard I think - that is delicious, much better than the coloured ones.

looks good to me too and is a kind of pesto really and why not - chard pesto, coriander pesto, pea shoot pesto - all these make great mayos as well

I like that.

Maybe I erm shouldn't tell everyone that they just replanted the beds at reading forbury gardens with tons of them, the wife eyed them up, I settled for 1700 decent plant pots they gave me, maybe I should of settled for licking my lips....  :-X
