You can either take hardwood cuttings;

or tip cuttings; http://www.thegardenersalmanac.co.uk/Data/Cuttings-Tip/Tip%20Cuttings.htm (http://www.thegardenersalmanac.co.uk/Data/Cuttings-Tip/Tip%20Cuttings.htm)

I've done loads of box cuttings successfully. Generally I take the cuttings about now, or maybe slightly earlier, about 4 to 5 inches long, cut under a leaf node, rub the cutting through my fingers downwards to take off all bar the top cluster of leaves, plant into a very gritty compost (50% grit), right up to just below the leaves and keep well watered in a shady place. They don't take too long this time of year to root.

I do pretty much the same as Jenny except I use seed and potting compost.  I insert the cuttings about six to a 10 cm pot around the edge of the pot.  Most root easily.

Good luck
