Title: Busy time of year, but I'm almost there!
Post by: Squash64 on May 18, 2010, 11:44:19

Sowed most of my squash seeds yesterday, bean seeds sown a week ago, only courgettes still to sow.

I hope I've timed it right so they won't need re-potting before they go out....
unlike the dahlias I grew from seed which are ready to flower now but if I pot them on I won't have anywhere to put them.

I misjudged the speed that Atlantic Giant grow - seeds planted on April 28th are like this today -

I am growing them for people to enter in our Giant Pumpkin competition this year.  They paid a £1 each and only those bought from me can be entered.  The problem is, 24 giants like these take up an awful lot of greenhouse space!

They all look great! Maybe a bigger greenhouse is on the cards  ;)

Not sure I can convince my husband that I need another one -
I've got two greenhouses at home and two on the allotment, and I also use one on a nearby plot.

Maybe growing fewer plants is the answer!
