Title: Can I mix them?
Post by: caroline7758 on May 17, 2010, 08:52:53
I love making plant food and/or compost by soaking all the "baddies" on my plot- nettles, weeds, rhubarb leaves etc. But now i have a smaller space I'm a bit stuck for space for all the buckets. I've acquired a big blue container and wonder whether I could mix them all together? I can see the reasons why not- different uses, different times to rot down, bu does anyone do this and how does it work out? (I've got couch, bindweed, creeping buttercup, rhubarb, nettles, borage and comfrey!)

Hi Caroline

I don't know the anwser - although I don't see why not - but I'm curious to know why you class Borage as a 'baddy'?  Is it because it self-seeds everywhere?

You're right, Georgie- I love borage, even though it self-seeds madly, and was just lumping it in with the rest- rhubarb leaves and comfrey are my friends too! ;D
