I heard snow mentioned for the Pennines too on the late forcast on R4 at 12.30ish last night so I am not suprised you have it Anne. Hope it goes soon. ;)
I am in West Yorkshire and would you believe it. It is snowing, its the 12th of May for goodness sake!! :o :o
According to the Met Office stats falling, but not settling snow, occurs on average once in May over most of Scotland and the Pennines.
wouldn't be the first time it has snowed in may. It snowed on 1st June in Isle of Man in 1975, the first day of our honeymoon!!
Was frosty here last night on the outskirts of London, its caught my flippin spuds. now well earthed up again and ive put old net curtain over the earlies that I could although I may run back down with a fleece when OH gets home.
We have got blue sky - brilliant sunshine and very pleasantly warm although there was ice on the car this morning early!
Glad I don't live near you lot with snow!

It was the coldest May night since 1996 according to this -

At 3am this morning we had a flurry of snow, proper big flakes. It lasted about 5 minutes then turned to rain, which gave way to clear skies. The temperature only dropped to 3˚C and there was no frost.
I am in sunny Kent.
Let us hope this is the last of the frost now for this spring. I have so much in the greenhouse waiting to go out including several varieties of dahlias that I have bought this year.
I risked planting some peas last week and they don't seem to have suffered despite the cold weather and overnight frosts of the past few days. We haven't had any snow down here though.
