Title: Gone to Seed
Post by: MagpieDi on November 24, 2004, 23:40:56
Just thought I'd start a thread for our favourite seed heads. :)

Mine has to be Teasel, not just for it's magnificent seed head, but I just love to see the little reservoirs all down the stem where the leaves join, after rainfall ! Oh, and lovely and spikey too !  ;D

I LOVE teasels!  ;D I remember the first time I tried growing them, I had a large amount of them growing right beside the fence and a lady came by and asked if she could have some to make those funny little hedgehog pomander thingies that were all the fashion 10 years ago! I had some 6 ft beauties last year, and this year they are just rosettes in the ground, but hopefully next year a good display again!

And to think we pull 'em up every time we see them. Thuggish weeds!
