Post by: Tatty on May 09, 2010, 18:49:14
Hi, have been to the allotment today and found cat poo in amongst my parsnips! Would should I do? I lifted the poo and binned it - am thinking netting? but cannot netb whole allotment - what do other people do?

Cats are about the only problem we don't have on the allotment... but at home we put twigs over any newly sown seeds, and the cat goes off to find somewhere better. Rose prunings are perfect!

4-6" twigs of holly stuck in the ground along the rows of seeds always worked for me.

Give thanks to your wee furry god/ess, and allocate them a small patch of fine tilth to distract them from the parsnips!

Thank you for ideas - twiggy twigs seeming like a good plan!
