Which pea should I try to grow. One or both.
I got some more today from poundland, I have greenshaft and early onward.
Shall I put some bamboo stakes into the ground, lay some pea and bean netting over it and then plant them under it ?
Plant both if you've got space, since you got both. Better to start them in pots. A dozen to a 3-inch pot is about right.
That many Robert !, ok, and do you put them in the ground that close too ?.
I use up to a dozen pots round a six-cane wigwam, depending on how many I have.
Hi Spud
I grew Early Onward last year (and believe me it was wet here in the West) very very successfully. In fact, I even overwintered some as an experiment under cloches throughout all that hard hard winter and 50% survived! These are flowering right now so I should get some early ones.
It was a prolific cropper and I had loads for freezing. A good do-er.

You get them as far as the kitchen? How do you manage that ;D
Grow loads.... the only way to get them to the kitchen.... ;D
well I can't argue with all that advice, so I went to town again this morning and I got 2 more packs of these things........ ;D
There should be plenty of tall pea seed going at the end of the season, I'll have lots for one, all being well. You get a better crop than off the little short things.
