Title: pea leaves being nibbled?

my peas are about 3 inches high and the bottom leaves have all been nibbled by something very small -they actually look like cartoon ite marks all the way around, any ideas??  ???

That's a pea/bean weevil.  I had the same problem last year.  I was told on here that it's common and only affects the leaves and won't stunt growth of either plants or peas.  Some people said to use derris powder on them.  I didn't, more because I had no clue what it was!

sounds like pea and bean weevil. neat little nibblers, look like the leaves have been cut around the edge with dress makers scissors. first time my broad beans have been affected by them. my autumn crop all died in the cold winter,years previous crop grown over the winter never get weevil. is this another good reason to sow the year before or was i just lucky?
