I am growing a couple of hundred square yards of it at the moment. I have never grown it from seed as it strikes cuttings so easily. But I would make sure the ground you are going to use is really free from weeds, well dug and aeriated. It is a greedy plants so plenty of compost and well rotted need to be used. I would grow it in seed boxes then make turfs by lining blue pastic mushroom boxes with any old curtains sheets etc.Fill with a really sandy compost and put six plants in a box and leave somewhere sunny. Six weeks later you will have camomile turfs to lay.

It is lovely to walk through with bare feet on a hot day.

I grew a small area once but did not clear the ground of weeds first so it was a nightmare to weed.
