Weather forecast had a minimum of 3 for last night but it was a lot lower and it was -2 here. Probably Oxfordshire (Benson) at -2.2 will have had the lowest temperature in UK last night. I do not think that the weather forecasts give enough warning.
There will be a lot of sorry looking courgettes around this morning.
i planted out some sweetcorn last week, but have a new batch growing just incase i lose them
with the weather as it has been during the last 3 days frost doesnt suprise me at all, hope it changes though
luckily for me my spuds havent come through yet so their ok atleast ;D
I have used this site for some time and it never fails me. Just drop 1 or 2 degrees from the lowest temperature to get ground level temp.

I can look a week ahead and see what needs to be protected and what needs to be ignored.
That looks an excellent site, Landimad, thankyou. We had enough frost last night (derby/notts/leics border) to completely ice up the car - good thing I'd earthed up and fleeced everything.
We had a frost last night and my potatoes have suffered. I expect they will put out some new leaves to compensate.
The 6 inch broad beans I planted on Friday were unaffected.
