Title: B&Q cold frame offer looks ok
Post by: superspud on May 03, 2010, 18:23:30
But then what would I know.

I dont know if this is of use to anyone, sorry about the length of the url, I dont know how to shorten it. I tried to get one of these, but they don't seem to be in many stores, I tried to get it moved from swindon to newbury for which they tried to charge me £50 !!!!!.

I bought one like this a few years ago and it lasted about 5 mins before it fell apart!  ::)

Well I am glad now, I was feeling left out before you all said that. Still I can always spend it on Everton kit, much more worthy.

It looks similar construction to the one OH bought me for Christmas- looked great on the website but quite thin plastic and the lid comes off every time I open it!

I've got something very similar...no good for outdoors...but I use mine in GH on staging..paraffin heater on shelf underneath and I have lovely and cosy heated space for those small and tender plants during late winter/early spring ;)

I had one of those, I quite liked it and it did do the job but was forever falling apart and OH took it to the tip.  He was very scathing of it as he is good at building things but I am still waiting for a "proper" cold frame, bless him ;)  He has done lots in the garden for me over the weekend so I am not complaining! :) :)

I had a glass cold frame for years. Last year OH said it had go to as it was dangerous so I gave it to a neighbour. Like you Tulipa I am still waiting & like you I can't complain. After getting our allotment ready OH is now double digging our daughters new allotment. I am just the labourer & loving every minute ;D.

I generaly find that when the wife says such as " hun, you remember that thing you were going to build but forgot, well I rang round the builders today and a bloke is coming to measure up soon" usually galvanises me out of terror of high costs to replace / build the "forgotten" item.
