Title: Green Zebra Cherry, or is it?
Post by: Jayb on May 01, 2010, 10:52:55
I'm  having a bit of a learning curve with a few things this year so although I've already posted similar elsewhere  I  hope this is of interest here;

I was really excited to be growing these toms this year. But I've recently noticed the two GZ Cherry plants I have appear to have variegated foliage although it didn't seem apparent to begin with. I'm not sure if the foliage has mutated or if there was a mix up with the seed and I was sent Variegated by mistake. No pest is evident, and all toms have been treated similarly. There are currently only these two seedlings, both GZ cherry with variegated foliage. They are in a mixed tray of 30.

I'm looking forward to seeing how they develop and finding out if they are GZ Cherry. I've sown some more seed just to see what happens with them.

Jeannine I noticed you are growing some, if your plants are from the seed I sent you, I'd be very interested to know how they develop. I don't think I shared these seeds with anyone else but if I did, it would be great to know how they do.

This has made me wonder if anyone else has got some thing unexpected happening?

Yes I sowed them and they are from you, they are very tiny though as planted mine well after you, I will keep a careful watch...sound interesting..I love mysteries.

Mine are still quite small, although I can just see flowers starting to form.
Here's a photo, although the colours in the picture don't seem to show the contrast well.
