Hi.
Started my allotment last year made loads of mistake and had a few successes.
Could anyone tell me what I can plant in a bed where Parsnips grew last year please.
Thanks very much
Jan
Potatoes - Brassicas or sweetcorn is my suggestion ;)
Hiya, jpduck, welcome to the site ;D
depends what you've fed your bed with, could stick some courgettes or squash in with some sweetcorn :)
If this your second year then you are really at the beginning of a 3 year rotation.
You should dig plenty of manure/organic matter into the ground and not plant root crops.
Peas or beans would be great followed by brassicas next year.

Anything apart from Parsnips and you could even put these in if your last lot wasn't diseased.
I agree with Dr Scouse prepare yourself a rotation plan for future plantings!
We do try to rotate whenever possible but sometimes the only bit of ground you have left is where something of the same family was before.
Thank you all very much for all the suggestions.
I will think seriously re the 3 year planting rotation.
