I know how it feels; when I lived in Cornwall, we once came home from church to find a waterfall coming through the living room from a burst pipe in the loft! Hope it gets fixed soon.

Thanks for the lovely pm's. We are now back in house and it's not really bad. The difficulty was that our watertank is above the back kitchen/utility area. So greatest damage was to boiler control box and our boiler is ancient...so hard to source bits. We have been camping in touring caravan in field as house electrics also needed attention . Van has been warmer than the house and has a gas heated shower, so a godsend really :)
Although I can get wifi on my Blackberry opening site pages very very slow and text tiny. Good to be back in own bed too!

We had a similar situation in the coldest weather over the winter when the hot water heater leaked and blew the electrics. It'll soon get sorted!

Thank you, we were actually very very fortunate. A neighbour phoned me at work and I was only minutes away, so apart from electrics/boiler we have been very lucky. The hardest bit was getting the stopcock closed properly. I would urge folk to check theirs.
