Not many mild ones...OH is in training to take some heat ;)
I'm growing wenks yellow hots, pretty in purple and glebe kirshen.Wishing now that I'd sown loads more.....
I've been a bit restrained (for me) this year, I'm sticking to my tried and tested favourites, Cayenne Red, Ring of Fire and Demon Red. Unless I see something I fancy at the plant sale that is...... ::) ;D
i have no idea which variety mine are,ive taken the seeds out of a bag of parrot food from work :)
grown lots of sunflowers from there before so why not the chillies, wrapped them in kitchen towel and soaked it for a few days
we shall see.......
You must try these Goodlife, if you can stand the heat :o

Ohhhh...lovely... ;D Have you grown those Tepin chillies? ..or do you know any suppliers little closer to home..? I do like a bit of warmth with my food ;D
Gaz...you must like suprises...if you still have any of the seeds from same batch..have a little chew of the seed...if any heat..well..chillies ::)
But my bet is that they would have used pepper seeds.

I've got seedlings 30-45cm high growing and making up about 30 varieties that I'm taking through our winter in the hope of having mature plants in Spring. Just posted a photo of some Rocoto juane seedlings to my Gallery.

Ring of fire is our 'standard' chilli - decent kick, but not horrific, and good yield. We are also growing praire fire, cheyenne, hot pepper 'purple' , hot 'patio sizzle &''chenzo'.
We have really good down the varieties this year to try and keep the greenhouse under control, but I have still potted up about 30 odd plants (argh).

what's a
Rocoto juane, no-lottie? ah, just saw - you're in
Australia :D
Juane means Orange, so it's an orange Rocoto.
Yes, stuck here in Australia Bugloss, but what am I to do. ;D
ah thanks, Google says I can call my one Rocoto canario, sounds posh ;D
Santa Fe
Early Jalapeno
Tobasco
Aji yello
Naga Morich
Hot Patio Sizzle
Peter Pepper
Ring of Fire
Purrira
Aji Rojo
Congo Trinidad
Fatalli
Peach Habanero

Mazzetti Patio
Scotch Bonnet saved from one bought in Asda. None of the seeds I had already bought germinated so I sowed the whole lot from this one, and every single one came up :o
I've potted on about 60 of them, good thing we have our Plant Sale coming up soon!
Various Bangladeshi ones grown from seeds and chillies they've given me.
gardentg44 ...you should have PM ;)
I'm growing Cherry Bomb, Naga Jolokia and Ring of Fire this year. The problem is that Ring of Fire is my staple cooking chilli and has been really disappointing. I've had 100% germination with the other two sorts but less than 50% with RoF and then they're weedy and slow to grow. Treated them all the same so don't know what's gone wrong. :-\
Love yummy chillies although I'm a bit of a heat light weight, my list;
Anheim
Big Jim
Black Hungarian
Brazilian Starfish
Bulgarian carrot
Caldero
Ciliegia piccante

I use a little electric propagtor - I still have some complete failures (could be old seed?) but I have a much better germ rate than I used to get.
Oh the secret is..fresh seeds...propagator...heat...and lots of patience...
Normally I don't have problems with germination but this year was a bit of hit and miss..I put it down to weather being so cold and my propagator wasn't quite warm enough..and it was on draughty windowsill as well..but I did get there eventually... ::)
What I found odd was that my naga morich seed, normally slow to germinate, were first to pop up and I had 100% germination as well... ::)..so I have more of those that I really need..I mean how many of those can you really use.. ::) I only get through few fruits..but I didn't have heart to throw them away neither and nobody wanted any of them to try..I wonder why.. ;D

I get mine going quite early in Feb or March esp ones like the Nagas which have a long season but April will do for most.
I have a nice hot sunny windowsill with a good aspect and it's double glazed so I have somewhere to grow them on.
Yep..same here..hottest ones in February ;)
