Title: PALE BLUE BUTTERFLY
Post by: Duke Ellington on April 23, 2010, 16:22:30
I was on the allotment today and saw a really pretty pale blue butterfly. Its a shame I didn't have a camera with me. Looks like it could be a good year for the butterfly.

I saw one last weekend flitting around some ivy, and I'm still seeing plenty of peacocks.
As you say it looks being a good year.  :)

Almost certainly a Holly Blue - one of my favourites.  I've had a few commas and the usual whites - so much better than last year already.  ;D

Had two in the garden today, only saw them from the side, not fully open.
Not sure what they are but smaller than a Cabbage White.

Edit : After having a look at some pictures I think it's a Holly Blue.
